The Florida International Air Show Keeps Moving Forward
Grounded by Circumstances. Lifted by Community. Florida International Air Show Returns with an Outstanding Civilian Lineup November 7 & 8
After hurricane disruption and military cancellations, the Board of Directors rallies Southwest Florida around aviation, family memories and a community tradition.
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — The Florida International Air Show’s Board of Directors has faced three years of challenges beyond its control. Its response: keep moving forward, bring outstanding civilian performers to Southwest Florida and preserve a community tradition built on shared experiences.
The 2026 Florida International Air Show returns Nov. 7–8 to Punta Gorda Airport with two legendary jets, accomplished aerobatic pilots and a weekend of activities for families and aviation enthusiasts.
The path has required resilience. Hurricanes Helene and Milton forced the cancellation of the 2024 Air Show. In 2025, the federal government shutdown prevented the U.S. Navy Blue Angels from appearing. This year, a military decision affecting the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team’s air show appearances removed that aircraft from the scheduled lineup.
Each setback brought disappointment for fans and fresh challenges for organizers. The board responded by adapting its plans, securing additional performers and continuing preparations with the support of sponsors, volunteers, community partners and loyal guests.
Two jets. Outstanding civilian performers. One memorable weekend.
The expanded 2026 lineup brings together jet aviation history, precision aerobatics and parachute demonstrations. Scheduled performers include:
- Bill Culberson flying the MiG-17 #620, bringing the power and presence of a historic fighter jet to Punta Gorda.
- Rick Sharpe flying the TA-4J Skyhawk, showcasing an iconic aircraft with a distinguished place in naval aviation history.
- Kevin Coleman, Red Bull Air Force pilot, delivering energetic aerobatics and precision flying.
- Aarron Deliu, international aerobatic champion, bringing championship skill and dynamic aerial maneuvers.
- Franklin’s Flying Circus, presenting its distinctive brand of aerial entertainment.
- The Chuters Jump Team, adding parachute demonstrations and patriotic excitement.
These civilian performers are accomplished attractions in their own right. Together, they offer audiences a compelling mix of talent, aircraft and flying styles.
Resilience means finding a way forward
“Resilience means finding a way forward, even when circumstances change,” said Denise Dull, president of the Florida International Air Show. “Our board and volunteers have faced hurricanes and military cancellations with determination, and Southwest Florida’s continued support keeps us moving forward. We’ve brought together an outstanding civilian lineup because this Air Show is bigger than any one act. It’s about bringing people together, inspiring children and creating memories families will treasure.”
A tradition bigger than any one act
The Florida International Air Show’s appeal extends beyond a single headline performer. It is the moment a child sees a jet overhead for the first time, the afternoon grandparents share with grandchildren and the chance to discover aviation together.
Alongside the aerial performances, guests can explore static aircraft displays, the STEM Innovators Pavilion, Precision Exotics, exhibitors, food vendors and family activities. The weekend offers opportunities to learn, explore and make memories both in the sky and on the ground.
Southwest Florida helps keep the tradition flying
The board credits the continued support of Southwest Florida’s communities with helping the Air Show move forward. Over 500 volunteers give their time, businesses provide sponsorships, nonprofit partners participate and families return to support an event with deep local roots.
That support sustains more than a weekend of entertainment. Since its first show in 1983, the Florida International Air Show has distributed $3.5 million to community nonprofit organizations.
The Board of Directors invites residents, visitors, businesses and aviation enthusiasts to help write the next chapter: gather at Punta Gorda Airport, enjoy outstanding civilian air show performers and create memories with the people who matter most.
Gates open at 9 a.m. both days. Tickets and event information are available at www.floridaairshow.com/tickets.
