Unleashing the Lightningat the Florida International Airshow!

Get ready to witness the cutting edge of American airpower.

The 388th Fighter Wing from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, brings the Air Force’s most advanced multi-role fighter to the Florida International Airshow — the F-35A Lightning II. With a mission to maintain combat readiness and deploy decisive airpower across the globe, the 388th stands at the forefront of modern warfare, ready to deliver dominance anytime, anywhere.

Assigned to Air Combat Command, the 388th Fighter Wing operates 78 F-35A aircraft and is powered by approximately 2,000 dedicated Airmen and civilian professionals. Its flying squadrons — the legendary “Fightin’ Fuujins” (4th FS), “Rude Rams” (34th FS), and “Black Widows” (421st FS) — represent generations of combat excellence and innovation.

The F-35A Lightning II is the Air Force’s premier fifth-generation fighter, combining stealth, advanced sensors, and unmatched situational awareness to dominate the skies. It’s more than a jet — it’s a force multiplier, designed to project strength, deter aggression, and win decisively in contested environments.

With a heritage dating back to World War II — flying B-17 missions over Europe — through Vietnam, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and beyond, the 388th Fighter Wing has built a legacy of courage, precision, and performance. Today, that legacy continues in the cockpit of the F-35A.

When you see the Lightning II roar overhead at the Florida International Airshow, you’re not just watching a demonstration — you’re witnessing the future of air dominance.
