The DAV Airshow Outreach Program was developed to increase public awareness of disabled veterans and to serve veterans in communities across the nation. Using two B-25 medium bombers, the program reminds the public of the sacrifices veterans have made and continue to make to keep our nation free. The original "Panchito", named after the feisty rooster from Disney's animated musical The Three Caballeros, was a bomber with the 396th Bomb Squadron, 41st Bomb Group, 7th Air Force, stationed in the Central Pacific. After several attacks on various Japanese strongholds in Southern Japan as well as Japanese help Eastern China, she was scheduled for another bombing run to Japan on the day the Japanese surrendered. - Air Force Reserve Jet Car - www.AFReserve.com
As it's escorted to the runway, it looks like a long, low toy, but that big Westinghouse J34-48 jet engine sticking out of the back visually says "Stand Back!" When driver Bill Braack, a member of the Air Force Reserve for 20 years, cranks it, this jet car can hit a speed of 400 mph in eight seconds. If it traveled any longer or faster, it would struggle to become airborne. Bill prefers that it stay on the ground and beat air show performers foolish enough to try to match their planes up against the Air Force Reserve Jet Car. He even gives them a head start and the Jet Car still wins. ... more about the Air Force Reserve Jet Car - American Double Trouble Barnstormer (Dual wing walkers) - www.AmericanBarnstormer.com
TWO Lady Wing Walkers on one 450 Stearman! - What sets our performances apart from other wing walking teams' acts? We do A LOT of wing WALKING. While some other teams only perform at the javelin and in front of the top rack, the American Barnstormer wing walkers hit two more locations on the Stearman: the back of the rack and the N-strut at the wingtip. Moving between these 4 distinct points on the plane, coupled with some old-fashioned acrobatics, makes for a much more complete wing walking demonstration than you can find elsewhere. PLUS - we offer you more options for your airshow dollar than any other wing walking team! New in 2009: Now you can have your cake and eat it, too - book Double Trouble and get the solo wing walk act, as well! The acts are distinct from one another and each contains a unique set of maneuvers/stunts. - Greg Koontz & the Alabama Boys - www.gkairshows.com
Greg Koontz has been performing in airshows since 1974, when he joined Col. Moser's Flying Circus and learned his trademark maneuvers from the best in the business. This airshow season, Greg returns to his roots to bring back good old- fashioned family entertainment in the best flying circus tradition! With TWO complete airshow acts, Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys are a complete airshow package! Flown in the 1946 Piper J-3 Cub, this act begins as Greg - farmer Clem Cleaver - climbs up on the announcer's stand, demanding a flight lesson. Later in the show, he "steals" the plane and takes off solo, with his whole crew chasing. Grandpa shoots off a tire to get him down, and Clem lands on his pickup truck as it races down the runway. - John Mohr Barnstorming - www.mohrbarnstorming.com
Rock'em, Sock'em, Low Level Stock Stearman Solo - With over 25,000 hours of flying experience (that's more than two years of his life spent in the air) John Mohr is one of the most talented and exciting pilots on the air show circuit. He performs extremely difficult maneuvers in a meticulously restored 1943 stock Stearman bi-plane which is an aircraft that not only weighs twice as much as today's aerobatic planes but also uses only half the horsepower. This is not your "normal" air show routine. - Danny Clisham - Air Show Announcer, Actor, Aerial Film Coordinator, Pilot - www.DannyClisham.com
